Stelis hirtella


 
Full shade, cold to coll temperature, flower in winter
Found in Ecuador and Peru in high montane forests as a miniature sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped by 1 to 2, fibrous, dilated sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptic-oblong, subobtuse, tridenticulate, attenuate below into the canaliculate, petiolate base leaf and blooms in the winter on 1 to 3, as long as or a bit shorter than the leaf, racemose, distichous, sparsely several flowered inflorescence arising through a spathe and has broadly cucullate, apicaulate, dorsally carinate floral bracts that envelope the pedicel.
